Added new customisation. This provides pin markers on googlemaps for up to 8 generations of ancestors. Go to individual person page then select "Ancestors" and then "Map". It can take a little while to complete the loading of the map, depending on the number of generations (which can be increased to 8) but be patient

29 Dec 2008:

(1) Logged in users who are in the database will now be shown their relationship to the person being viewed on their individual page

(2) Some documents are now being added that can be viewed only by logged-in users

(3) The maps function has been extended so that children's birth places are marked on googlemaps with pins, as long as their birth places are geocoded and the child is not living

19 Oct 2008: Updated to TNG v7.0.2.

Probably the most noticeable new features are the ability to create a pdf file for some pages, and also the "Most Wanted" pages available from the main menu on the left and from the Info drop down menus.

24 June 2008: I have been doing some further research on the Keens of Lower Slaughter. I realised that one long-held belief that William Keen married Mary Ann Caddell of Great Rissington was completely incorrect, his wife was actually Mary Ann Hicks of the same village, this lead to some major updates in this area.

18 May 2008: It finally dawned on me yesterday that I had two people called Hannah Walker in my database who were almost certainly the same person. This now means that my 4*Great Grandfather Robert Walker is also my 5*Great Grandfather, because my 2*Great Grandfather John Walker married his 1st cousin once removed Hannah Beck. :-)

1 Jan 2008: After many years of using PAF, have moved all my offline data to Ancestral Quest, interesting to see if any differences are apparent in TNG as a result.

31 Dec 2007: Upgraded TNG to v6.1.3

2 Dec 2007: I reached a milestone in the last week when the number of individuals in my database surpassed 10000. I don't advocate "collecting" family members, and have hardly ever imported significant numbers of people from other people's research/gedcoms, so I feel quite proud of the fact that this number has been reached. I try to follow up all information I receive from the kind assistance of others to ensure the data is correct or at least can be coroborated. Thanks to everyone who has assisted in the last 10 years or so. I even made a breakthrough today, identifying a new set of 6*Great Grandparents, Thomas and Elizabeth Cave, whose daughter Sarah was christened in Holnest in 1784 and married John Downton .

29 Mar 2007: (1) Added a group of records related to the Newbury family group, courtesy of Alison Elkin. (2) Added several updates to the Cole family group, courtesy of Peter Cole. (3) For the Ryalls, several marriage dates added for the family in South Africa, from the Natal Witness.

13 Jan 2007: Latest gedcom update includes significant changes to 3 areas:

(a) Information on Joseph Hayter, son of Aaron, and descendants through Frederick Hayter kindly supplied by G Walker, including several new photographs

(b) New information on the Keen/Banning family to complement new photographs kindly supplied by B Smith

(c) New information on William Henry Chappell and family, kindly supplied by D Blair

2 Jan 2007: Added 8 new photos of Edgar Harry Keen and family, courtesy of Beryl Smith

Added new facility, to be able to view forenames. Select forenames on the main menu, and find out the most popular forenames in my family database.

Changed default way of displaying information about living people by removing all forenames and replacing with initials only. Don't forget if you register and log-in you will be able to access additional data.
